Introduction to the man behind the product 

Marcel was raised as the youngest of seven children on the family farm in Belgium.  On Sunday mornings the children would queue for the delicious, perfectly round golden crepes, their mother lovingly prepared for them.

Not surprisingly as a young man he found himself in a career that involved him within the food industry.  After developing automated systems for pancake production, his passion for making perfect pancakes became his way of life.

Then in 1999, Marcel and his wife Inge decided to seek a lifestyle which would allow them to settle down a little and which would give them space to enjoy their lives away from their busy lives in Antwerp.

In New Zealand they found a friendly and hassle-free country.  The beauty of Mount Taranaki and the scenic coastline brought them to settle in New Plymouth.

His love of traditional European crepes and his knowledge of producing perfect Belgium pancakes brought them to establish Van Dyck Fine Foods, so that they could share these wonderful European recipes and make them easier for everyone to enjoy.
